Interview for BBC Radio 4: PM

Speaking on Radio 4’s PM show about racism from Bulgarian fans directed toward black England players during an international match (Oct 14th 2019). Why does it occur? How does football racism vary across Europe and how has it changed over time? What can we do about it and what responsibility do white fans and managers have? And how can England fans lead the way in anti-racism (e.g. with the anti-racist chants we heard in Bulgaria)?

Twinning Project collaboration announcement

Exciting times ahead working with the Twinning Project to analyse football-based interventions to reduce reoffending in British prisons! The Twinning Project has paired over 30 major football clubs with local prisons to deliver courses in coaching, refereeing, and stewarding. Not only does this offer the potential for future football-industry jobs, but access to sustainable, positive social identities. As we aim to look at reoffending over two years (with surveys delivered pre- and post-release), final reports are not expected until 2025 so we’re in it for the long haul!
